Chi-no-ike Jigoku is the oldest Jigoku in Japan, known as a red thermal mud lake. It is a result of natural chemical reaction from the high temperature and pressure underground which formed red thermal mud that includes iron oxide and magnesium oxide and gushed from Earth layers.
