most are open as usual.

Beppu Christmas Hanabi Fantsia 2015
This is an annual Christmas event held in Beppu City every winter. Approximately 10 thousand fireworks will be shot up synchronized with the music and will decorate the clear winter sky over a two day period above the No.1 Venue, Spa Beach.
There will be singing of Christmas songs on stage on the 23rd and live music stage performances by gorgeous artists on the 24th which will set the atmosphere with the Christmas spirit. In addition to this, you can enjoy various Christmas related events and illuminations at the No. 2 Venue Central Shopping Area around JR Beppu Station.

Lake Kagurame is located in the outskirts of Beppu City is famous for its irises.

There are 80 types and approximately 15,000 roots. The light purple colored irises are extremely beautiful.
The viewing period is from June 6th (Sat) to July 5th (Sun). The “Lake Kagurame Iris Appreciation Event” will be held on June 20th (Sat). There will be music performances. Tea and Kagurame Dango will be served for free as well.

The 6th annual Beppu Tousuisai is the winter festival hosted at the Beppu Park
with spectacular Holiday Lights and many fun events.
The Holiday Lights will be displayed until January 18th 2013.
